Make jewellery, not war !
For more than 20 years, the French vocational training school Jean Guéhenno in Saint-Amand Montrond has been working on a strong international opening policy. 200 students from the jewellery sector do their 4 years training in a European work environment. The French vocational school Jean Guéhenno has indeed four partnerships with euro-mediterranean countries, such as Italy, Spain, Greece and Portugal. The lycée works especially with the Italian school Cellini de Valenza and the Portuguese art school Antonio Arroio in Lisbon to organize many exchanges. Every year, these three schools organize vocational mobilities so that students can do internships in euro-mediterranean companies. The French vocational school Jean Guéhenno is also involved in a Erasmus+ strategic partnership project called “Make jewellery, not War”, organized with its Italian and Portuguese partners, and also a Belgian school. This project is a means to acquire citizen and professional knowledge, as well as strengthening everyone competences and resources in a intercultural approach. The students share their experiences on a blog “The Wall” (www.le-mur.fr/_mur/) and in the school newspaper. Every year, traveling exhibitions created by the European students are shown in France, Italy, Portugal, Greece, and in other north-european countries.
